How do I care for my Handmade Nakedglory watch?

Watches that are hand assembled by the Nakedglory team are mostly gold plated. They are water resistant, but not waterproof; hence minor splashing is acceptable but submergence under water is not and will most likely spoil your watch. Our bodies secrete perspiration and oils throughout the day and the moisture will start to eat away at the gold plating on the Nakedglory watch frames. To care for your watch and maintain its shiny appearance, as well as to prevent tarnishing, it is recommending that you wipe your watch down with a clean, dry cloth when you are done wearing it for the day. Any moisture will speed up the tarnishing process. Avoid contact with water whenever possible. Store in a cool, dry place.

 

How do I care for my Vintage watch?

Vintage watches are at least 20 years old, and hence need extra care to maintain. Avoid contact with water at all costs. Wipe down the watch with a clean, dry cloth when you are done wearing it for the day, this is to remove any buildup of oil or dirt and will hence slow down any tarnishing that may occur. Purchase a small polishing cloth if you'd like to maintain the shine of the frame - as most old vintage watches are gold plated - and a thorough polishing will bring out the previous shine once more. For a little extra shine, add a tiny tiny amount of toothpaste to your polishing cloth, this helps to scour away oxidised bits of dirt on gold plating. You will also want to avoid hard knocks whenever possible, as they are over two decades old and will require a little TLC (tender loving care). Enjoy your new favourite timepiece!

 

What do I do if my watch stops working?

Handmade watches are under warranty for an entire year, whilst vintage pieces are covered for 2 months. If your watch stopped within this timeframe, repairs are free of charge! Simply drop by any of our upcoming events (full list here) to hand it to us for repair!

 

I knocked my watch really hard and the studs inside fell off!

No worries, this can easily be fixed! Simply drop by any of our upcoming events (full list here) to hand it to us for repair. This is covered under warranty, else if the warranty has expired, will only cost $4 or less.

 

I dropped my watch and the glass cracked!

In most cases, glass/crystals can easily be replaced unless they are faceted - Faceted glass is usually custom made together with the watch frame and hence most likely will be hard to replace. In any case, you can drop by any of our upcoming events (full list here) to let us assess the possibility of glass replacement. In most cases, this costs between $15 - $28.
